I don't have that problem in my zone 5 garden.
In fact, it seems to be getting pushed out by a few other garden thugs
It is not just beautiful, but deer resistant, bunny resistant and the hummingbirds and butterflies love it.
It is low maintenance and drought tolerant

I am going to have to take another look at Monarda. We're in Z4-5 here and I always avoided the plant because I had heard of its tendency to be invasive. I love the way it looks in your garden! I guess I was leery because I already have issues with a few plants I wish I'd never seen, so I steered clear. I think it's time to become adventurous (love the neighbor's pink one, too.)
