Fertilizer Friday - September 20 - feeling like fall

It had definitely started to feel like fall around here.
The leaves have started to turn and drop, and we had our first frost warning the other night.
I went out to cover my basil and took what I thought would be the last nice photos of the garden for the year.

When I went to work the next morning, it was dark and I couldn't see the extent of the frost. But it was thick on the car and I had to scrape the ice from the windshield.
I had a very sad day at work thinking that I would come home to a garden full of black, frost bitten annuals that would need removing. This was the earliest I could ever remember getting frost.
I underestimated my tough plants!
Every thing in my gardens (with the exception of the green beans) was just fine!
There was some slight damage, as seen on this Zinnia, but after a little trimming it will be fine.
I found plenty of beauties to share for Tootsie's Fertilizer Friday!

I wonder how longer Mother Nature will co-operate?

Here we go again!

You may remember our new bathroom window from THIS post, and the difficulties getting the siding up.
Well, I think we have learned a lesson about used windows.
While our intention was to renovate the bathroom after the window was put in, we just didn't get to it.
Now we have no choice.
The window rotted, and we had no idea how much water damage was on the inside.

We had to tear out the tub surround, the drywall, the insulation, and the tub.
The bathroom is half 'gutted'.
We picked up a brand new, vinyl window.
Here it is in and the wall getting re-sided.
Once it was in, it was only missing one thing on the outside...shutters!
So the outside is all done, wonder how long it will take to finish the inside?

A few from the trail camera

The trail camera really didn't get too much action this year.
I carried it back home in the spring when the grass grew too tall and the poison ivy was flourishing.
I put it up down at the front of the property where there seemed to be a trail.
Here are a few of the creatures that were snapped.
1:02pm these guys are brave!
These 2 must be regular visitors
And on the way home
This last one surprised me a little.
I had no idea what kind of bird it was. Did a little research and discovered it was a young, female, ring necked Pheasant. I have never seen one around here but there must be a few.
You never know what will get snapped :)
