3 more Hosta ... I just couldn't STOP myself!!

Maybe I DO have a problem
I've been wanting to get a miniature Hosta for quite some time, and I have been looking in every greenhouse I pass for a 'Mouse Ears' Hosta with no success.
On a recent outing, we stopped at Garry's Garden Gallery in Lindsay, Ontario.
My intention there was to buy a new and different Peony for my garden with my birthday $$.
I did find a Peony I didn't have, and bought a 'Primevere' Peony.
(No photos of this beauty until next spring)
The next thing I knew, I was strolling the Hosta aisle.
And while they did not have 'Mouse Ears', I did find a few other miniatures.
So may I introduce my 3 new Hosta miniatures...
'Pauls Glory'
'So Sweet'
and finally, 'Veronica Lake'
These 3 are quite small and I shouldn't have a problem squeezing them into the garden.
I'll still be looking for 'Mouse Ears' though!

Fertilizer Friday - June 22

This week was a hard one, for plants and outdoor workers.
We broke some heat records, 3 days of scorching heat that was finally relieved by a passing thunderstorm. A storm was never so welcome - to ease the heat and water the gardens.
I got a photo as the first drops began to fall and the dark clouds moved in.
The plants were happy to get some much needed water too!
This beautiful poppy grew in the bean patch this year, I'm still not quite sure HOW it got there, but I'm not complaining!
This Gaillardia didn't grow last year, but I'm glad it's making a comeback!
The Hydrangea's are going to be putting on quite a show this year
This years new birthday rose - 'Scentimental' - Thanks kids its beautiful!

Fertilizer Friday - June 15th

Friday isn't just Fertilizer Friday this week, it's also Netty's Birthday!
And nothing says Happy Birthday like flowers!
False Blue Indigo - these pretty blooms are followed by attractive purple seed pods
I love the color of these Rose Campion blooms
Cheery Coreopsis blooms
The first Rose - 'Intrigue'
Poppy
A delicate Spiderwort bloom
This is another bloom who's scent brings back birthday memories from my youth.
I always remember the smell of the Mock Orange...a sweet scent that I couldn't name until years later.

A few from the trail camera

It's been a while since I posted any trail camera photos, so here are a few that have been taken since the last trail camera posting

I was having trouble getting out to the trail camera ... tall grass, mosquito's, Poison Ivy not to mention the overgrowth that made it difficult to see what was lurking, so I brought the trail camera back home. I will take it back out after the 1st cut of hay makes walking and visibility better.
In the meantime, I thought I would make use of it around the yard. I was having issues with something in the yard breaking into my shed as well as disappearing baby birds.
I discovered there were 2 raccoons making the rounds in my yard
Note the ratty tail on this one
I believe this is the one that broke into my shed and ate the box of rat poison - he hasn't been back
Mr Ratty Tail has since been captured and released somewhere else. I just hope he doesn't find his way back!

Peonies!!!!

The first of the Peonies are blooming and the yard is smelling heavenly!
It's amazing how different the blooms can be on the same plant

My Mother's Peony is loaded with blooms this year
A few from the other plants
I'm linking in to Fertilizer Friday with Tootsie today
Meanwhile, I'll be out in the garden smelling the Peonies :)
